Visa Options

Australian residents, Australian permanent residents and NZ residents can sponsor close family members for permanent residence or migration to Australia.

 

Partner Visas

Australian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor partners for migration to Australia. To sponsor a partner, you must either be married, in a de-facto relationship, have a registered relationship or be engaged.

  • Onshore Partner Temporary Visa (Subclass 820) and Permanent visa (Subclass 801)
  • Offshore Partner Temporary Visa (Subclass 309) and Permanent visa (Subclass 100)
  • Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300) – Fiancé visa

 

Parent Visas

Parents with at least half their children living permanently in Australia may be eligible for a parent visa which gives them permanent residence in Australia. Parents over a certain age may be eligible to apply for an onshore 'aged parent' visa which allows them to remain in Australia on a bridging visa during processing.

  • Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173) and Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143)
  • Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884) and (Permanent)(Subclass 864)
  • Parent Visa (Subclass 103)

 

General Skilled Migration

If you are a skilled worker, and have relatives in Australia, these relatives may be able to sponsor you for a general skilled visa. This would make it easier for you to meet the relevant pass mark for the application.

  • Skilled Independent Subclass 189
  • Skilled Nominated Subclass 190
  • Skilled Regional Provisional Subclass 489
  • Skilled Regional Subclass 887
  • Graduate Temporary Subclass 485

 

Carer Visas

If you need to care for or assist a relative in Australia with a long-term or permanent medical condition.

  • Carer Visa Offshore (Subclass 116)
  • Carer Visa Onshore (Subclass 836)

 

Child Visa

This visa lets an eligible parent sponsor their child to live in Australia indefinitely.

  • Child Visa (Subclass 101) and Onshore Child Visa (Subclass 802)
  • Adoption Visa (Subclass 102) Orphan Relative Visa (Subclass 117) and Onshore Orphan Relative Visa (Subclass 837)
  • Dependent Child Visa (Subclass 445)

 

Aged Visas

This visa lets older parents live in Australia if their child is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen who is settled in Australia. This visa is also for some older people to stay permanently in Australia if they rely on an eligible relative in Australia to provide financial support.​

  • Aged Parent (Permanent) Visa (Subclasses 804 and 838)

 

Remaining Relative Visa

This visa allows someone in Australia whose only near relatives are living in Australia, to live in Australia as a permanent resident.​
